Why Trane Holds Up in a Spokane Winter

Spokane asks a lot of a heating system. Design temperatures drop into the single digits, the shoulder seasons swing thirty degrees in a day, and a system that was sized off a rule of thumb instead of a real load calculation will either short cycle all spring or fall behind in January. Trane’s reputation was built on equipment that survives that kind of duty cycle.

The parts that matter here are unglamorous. Trane’s Climatuff compressor and Spine Fin outdoor coil are built for repeated freeze and thaw, which is exactly what an Eastern Washington fall does to an outdoor unit sitting on the north side of a house. Their variable-speed equipment modulates instead of slamming on and off, which is what keeps a two-story Spokane home from running eight degrees warmer upstairs than down.

None of that helps if the install is wrong. A perfect piece of equipment on undersized return ductwork is still a bad system. That is the part Bearcat owns.

The Trane Lineup We Install

Trane Variable-Speed Heat Pumps

The XV20i and its siblings modulate capacity in fine increments instead of running full tilt or not at all. Best fit for homes with uneven rooms, high ceilings, or an owner who wants the lowest operating cost and is planning to stay put.

Trane Air Conditioners

From the single-stage XR series up through two-stage and variable-speed. Straightforward, durable, and the sensible answer when the furnace is fine and only the AC needs replacing.

Trane Gas Furnaces

Including the S9V2-VS at up to 97% AFUE with a variable-speed blower. In a Spokane home with an aging 80% furnace, the efficiency jump alone usually pays a meaningful share of the payment.

Trane Dual Fuel Systems

A Trane heat pump paired with a Trane gas furnace. The heat pump carries the mild months at low cost, the furnace takes over when it drops below the crossover point. This is often the smartest configuration for our climate and almost nobody quotes it unprompted.

What a Bearcat Trane Install Actually Includes

  • A real load calculation on your home, not a swap of whatever tonnage was there before.
  • An honest look at your ductwork and returns before we quote equipment, because a bigger system on bad duct is money set on fire.
  • Line set, pad, whip, disconnect and condensate handled properly instead of reused because it was already there.
  • Startup, refrigerant charge verified by measurement, and airflow set to the equipment’s spec sheet.
  • Permit pulled and inspection scheduled. Washington license #BEARCHC746DU.
  • Warranty registered with Trane on your behalf, and we walk you through what it covers before we leave.

You get the price before we start. If we find something mid-job that changes the number, you hear about it before we do the work, not on the invoice.

Questions Spokane Homeowners Actually Ask

Is Bearcat a Trane dealer?

Yes. Bearcat Heating and Cooling is a certified Trane dealer serving Spokane, Spokane Valley and the surrounding communities. We sell new Trane equipment, install it, and handle warranty service on it.

How much does a Trane furnace cost in Spokane?

It depends on the size of the home, the efficiency tier you choose, and the condition of the existing ductwork and venting. A straightforward mid-efficiency replacement sits well below a variable-speed high-efficiency system with duct corrections. We quote the real number for your house after we look at it, in writing, with no obligation. Call (509) 891-5110 or book a free quote online.

Do you service Trane units you did not install?

We do. Plenty of our Trane service calls are on systems another company put in. Bring us the model and serial number and we will tell you what we can do and what the manufacturer warranty still covers.

What does the Trane warranty cover?

Trane’s residential equipment carries a manufacturer parts warranty, and the registered length is longer than the unregistered default. Registration has a deadline after installation, which is why we submit it for you. Labor is separate from parts and comes from us, not from Trane. We spell out both before you sign anything.

Trane or Mitsubishi for a Spokane home?

Different jobs. If your house already has good ductwork and you are replacing a furnace and AC, Trane is usually the stronger value. If you are heating an addition, a shop, a finished basement or an older home with no ducts at all, a Mitsubishi ductless system is almost always the better answer. We install both, so we have no reason to steer you.

Can I get a Trane system financed?

Yes. Bearcat offers 0% interest financing on approved credit. See our financing page for current terms.

Do you install Trane in Spokane Valley, Liberty Lake and Coeur d’Alene?

Spokane Valley and Liberty Lake, yes, along with Mead, Cheney, Deer Park, Airway Heights, Medical Lake and Freeman. See our service area map for the full list.

How long does a Trane installation take?

A straight furnace or AC changeout is usually one day. A full system with a heat pump, a furnace and any duct correction runs one to two days. We tell you which one you are before we start, and we clean up after ourselves.
